Thimbleberry (R. parviflorus) is an interesting species of Rubus with large maple-like leaves, and fruit that are deep red when ripe (never becoming purple or black), and easily separate from the base as a thimble-shaped mass of red fruit, hence the name. The flavor is sweet and delicious, and the many seeds don't really detract from this.
