Yaupon (Ilex vomitoria) is a small tree in the holly family, and perhaps the only plant native to the (southeastern) US which contains caffeine.

Dried yaupon leaves can simply be steeped in water to produce a beverage similar to green tea, or it can be roasted to produce more toasty and coffee-like aromas and remove some astringency.
